Glitter powder for the plastic industry

    Leio glitter powder – Aluminum series are brilliantly coloured particles of precision cut aluminium foil used in a wide variety of thermoplastics. They can be incorporated into moulded and extruded products either directly or as a colour concentrate or masterbatches (PP, PE and ABS). They add a touch of sparkle and catch the consumer's eye.

    The main characteristics of these glitter are high temperature and excellent solvent resistance.

    We recommend amounts of 0,5 – 1,5 % in weight.

How to distinguish quality of glitter powder

Distinguish quality of glitter powder :

 Appearance: High quality glitter powder has neat scraped edge without obious jagged slashed marks, and it is cellular hexagonal square in shape with the granular sizes having no difference.

 

 Shape: We can check the shape with the microscope, high quality glitter powder has a standard hexagon shape and no other powder left.

 

 Alkali resistance: High quality glitter powder after soaking in the strong acid and strong alkali liquid medium, and the color still keep shinning and not fade.

 

Temperarure Resistance: High quality glitter powder do not fade under high temperature .

Which size of glitter powder is the best one to using on the clothing

Applying the glitter powder on clothing, for the thin lines, we suggest choose size of 1/256.

For large area of clothing, choose 1/96" and 1/128" is recommended.

How to judge the quality of glitter powder

1.     Under high temperature of 180°C for a half of an hour, it will not be fade and dark.

2. When you touch it, you will feel very dry without rough.

3.  It has a good shinny effect, and its refraction is very strong and uniform.

4. After mixing with normal paint, ink and glue, glitter powder will not change its original color!

How to keep the leather smoothly when using the glitter powder on it

There are different quality of glitter powder and many sizes for choosen. Generally in leather industry,  the size of glitter are 1/24" and 1/10" are very popular.

Applied in shoes material, choose suitable loosen and thickness glitter is important.

Furthermore: the surface of glitter. In order to ensure that keep the glitter 

surface smooth after gluing, it's need to make sure that the glitter powder has clear hexagon

shape without any bracing wire.

What is the glitter powder grades?

Leio Glitter is devided into gradeⅠ, gradeⅡ, grade Ⅲ for different applications with different price level for your selection.

Grade Ⅰ, The extremely brilliance and excellent solvent resistance allow it to use in many different fields, such as Make-up products including nail polish, hair gel. It is also used in paint and coating, as well as plastic industry.

Grade Ⅱ, Due to it’s good brilliance, washing-resistance and more favourable prices, a lot of our customer use it in fabric and textile printing, inks, paints, Christmas decorations and other decorative industries. It can also be used for cosmetics, but not for nail polish and hair gel, because of it is limited solvent-resistance.

Grade Ⅲ, The main difference of the Grade II and Grade III material is the gauge of the foil. Grade III is really a cost-effective material which can be used for all kinds of arts and crafts, and printing on textile, leather, posters e.g. Due to their limited resistance against water and solvents, washing and resistance tests prior to application is recommended.
